Hunting just got easier
It’s been almost a week since I posted about the day I was hunting for treasure in trees.
I had spent the day hunting for a heart in the branches as I drove down a tree-lined street.
I found one – but, it wasn’t because I hunted for it.
It was a gift given.
You can read more about this treasure I didn’t hunt for here.
This week, I have found myself continuing to look for hearts in branches… and you know what I realized?
His gifts are there whether I see them or not.
It hit me. When someone goes on a treasure hunt… the treasure doesn’t just happens to show up when it is found.
The treasure has been there all along – it is just a matter of it being sought.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13
As I have continued my hunt for hearts in creation this week I have been so excited to find some! And, each time I hunt, they seem easier to see.
Isn’t this true in this life?
Sometimes we are desperate…
searching…
hunting…
pleading…
for our eyes to see the incredible love our God lavishes on us.
It is good that we learn discipline.
It is good to have to hunt for these treasures that are there for us to find.
It is learning a new habit.
It is like training our eyes to see Him in even the smallest details.
The more we train, the quicker we recognize His presence in even the darkest moments.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13
When I am not as disciplined to be carving time with my King…
reading His Word to me…
choosing to dwell on the things of His Kingdom – things that are lovely, worthy of praise, excellent, true…
I quickly lose sight of all the treasures and love He has already poured out for me.
This treasure hunt thing is life changing.
Seeking to find ‘love notes’ in creation changes how you look at the world around you.
You see that HE is HERE.
