stronger than us
Oh, how strategic our enemy is.
He doesn’t give up… He is seeking us out – trying to distract us, feeding us lies.
Is it working?
Some of the distractions are extremely clever.
He twists and turns truth.
Remember in the Garden of Eden when the Lord told Adam and Eve they could have any tree in the garden but one.
“The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17
The truth was that they were given abundance! Everything in the garden was for them… except one tree.
But, when the serpent came to deceive Eve, he twisted God’s words. In reminding Eve of what the Lord had promised them… look at what he says.
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” Genesis 3:1
Do you see it?
God didn’t say that you shall NOT eat from ANY tree of the garden. He said you SHALL eat from ANY tree – except one.
Crafty, twisted lies…
What lies are you believing today?
We choose to believe that evil is winning the battle ~
when, the battle has already been won!
We are saved…
we have been made holy…
we are blameless…
We have been REDEEMED by the blood of Jesus.
We will overcome darkness by His blood and our testimony… our story… our witness of Him in our lives.
We have to keep telling our stories.
Sometimes I feel like my story is insignificant…
Sometimes I don’t think I have the strength to deal with the pain in sharing the ugly…
And, sometimes I don’t really feel like I have ‘enough’ of a story to make a difference.
Can you relate?
These are lies, friend.
Scripture says that we will overcome by the blood of Jesus and our story of Him in our lives. (Revelation 12)
If you know Jesus – share your story.
Share the ugly, so we can see the beautiful.
Share whether it makes sense or not.
Share even if you are afraid.
His story in you is doing a great work… don’t believe the lies of our enemy.
Or, maybe you are feeling… “I just need to be a little bit stronger.” Yeah, I’ve thought that too. But, the truth is – it is all about being real in my weakness. Through my weakness, my Lord’s POWER shines.
Maybe we need to be embracing our weakness… so we can see His power in our lives more clearly.
Whatever it is, I want to be equally strategic as my enemy to focus on TRUTH.
I want to be aware of how I am being attacked, so I can fight… To pay attention so I’m not caught off guard and deceived in the midst of my battles.
I want to be confident in the strength of my King… believe with everything in me that He who is in me is stronger.
I want to claim the truth…
When did we start believing evil was stronger than us?
