here we are

Here we are…

It has been a difficult… busy… crazy… few weeks.

Oh, who am I kidding – it’s been a difficult… busy… crazy… few months… And not with anything really major.

Tell me you can relate?

This crazy… you know ~
When the dishes seem to never be done.
When there are more groceries to buy.
When the kids are needing extra help with their schoolwork.
When someone always seems to be fighting some sort of illness…
When you can’t seem to get anyone to bed at a decent hour.

I’m sure you are well aware that this list could go on and on. {ha!}

But – no matter how long the list.
No matter what the day, week or month has been like…

Here we are…

November.

As these fall days blow by, I really want to take the time to be thankful… And as I was considering what it is I am thankful for today – I struggled a bit… so I turned to God’s Word and look what gem He showed me.

“Now do what you’ve been taught.
School’s out;
quit studying the subject and start living it!
And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.”
Colossians 2:7

Sometimes that “living it” is simply showing up...

As we look forward to this month – leading into next month…
As the holiday decorations are making their way into stores reminding us of everything we still have to get done…

Here we are.

Regardless of how I’m feeling.
Regardless of what my circumstances are.
Whether I am in battle or on the sidelines.
Whether I’m “happy” or not.

I choose to show up… and let my living spill over into giving thanks.
