If it looks like coffee, it smells like coffee, and it feels like coffee ~ It still might not be coffee

coffee-post
I was at a little theme park last weekend and had a horrible headache. I was looking for some coffee to help kick in the advil so I could walk around the park and enjoy the time with my kids.

The snack bar offered a cup of coffee for a buck. It was about 6 ounces from the bottom of the pot.

It looked like coffee…
It smelled like coffee (sort of)…
It was hot like coffee…

But, I would probably not be too far off if I said it was not ‘coffee’.

Got me thinking.

Life is crazy.
It looks like crazy.
It feels like crazy.
But, really is it only crazy in my eyes?

Reminds me of when the disciples were in the boat with Jesus to ‘Get to the other side.’

It was Jesus’ suggestion to take the boat.
They got in and Jesus went to sleep.

A big storm came and the disciples went to look for Jesus so He could save them (many were fishermen mind you – must have been a HUGE storm to scare them!).

Where did they find Jesus?
In Mark 4:38 says,
“And He Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion…”

He was in the stern.
The back of the boat… where the rudder is.
Where the control of the boat is.

And, He was asleep
resting
being still.

The storm raging around Him didn’t wake Him… His disciples woke Him…

The storm looked like crazy,
but Jesus was sleeping peacefully.

He is not bound by the rules of ‘crazy’.

What looks like complete insanity in the eyes of this world, simply isn’t to Him.

Don’t believe me?
Look at His story…

Noah’s Ark.
The Israelites leaving Egypt.
Elijah and the prophets of Baal.
Lazarus brought back from the dead.
Jesus conquering death.

His story looks a lot like crazy in my eyes.

My life might look like crazy…
It might feel like crazy…

But, my life is a part of His story {and yours} too.

And it is a beautiful story of redemption.

The truth is…

My King? He’s got this.

My ugly… becomes His beautiful.
