feel no fear
How did your day start?
It’s easy for me to begin my day with my gaze on all my struggles I intend to face and how I will be fixing them.
You too?
It’s a horrible way to wake up… with the stress of the day so heavy on my shoulders and heart. In fact, it can be incredible overwhelming and almost cause a panic.
A dear friend reminded me…
That is not from The Lord.
That is worth repeating – don’t you think?
This stress – that is not from the Lord.
This morning I woke with the lyrics from For King and Country’s song Shoulders on my mind…
“I will feel no fear.”
That song is based on Psalm 121:
“I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.”
Psalms 121:1-2 (MSG)
Sometimes I look for help and relief in my abilities to work and generate income.
Sometimes I look for help in how I eat.
Sometimes I look for help in the relationships around me.
{Sometimes I even look for help in a new outfit.}
None of those can offer the help I am looking for and truly desiring.
My strength comes from God.
The God who made the mountains.
My strength comes from the God who made me and… who made good food.
My help comes from the ultimate source who offers me a sound-mind, love and power… not fear.
How did you wake this morning?
With a to/do list as long as a marathon?
Maybe you woke in a panic, running late to an appointment…
Or to a child needing extra attention.
Maybe you woke full of fear – and going through all the ways you will take care of things today.
However you woke… Claim truth.
The TRUTH is that our strength is from the great Creator.
The TRUTH is that our help comes from the King who not only made the mountains…
But who loves you…and me… extravagantly.
