Forgiveness ~ “You meant evil against me”
After being teased…
After being beaten…
After his brothers left him for dead and then sold him into slavery.
After they completely treated him like garbage… these are Joesph’s words.
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result…” Genesis 50:20
Talk about words of forgiveness!
Joseph’s brothers meant every evil against him. They were jealous of him and sought to destroy him!
And Joseph chose to forgive them.
I’m not sure I could do the same. I have trouble enough forgiving thoughtless words against me – let alone deliberate hurt.
Joseph’s brothers didn’t accidentally hurt him. They were deliberate to torture and get rid of him.
As I dig further into understanding what real, true forgiveness looks like – you know what I’m finding?{SURPRISE!}
Forgiveness looks a lot like my ugly transformed into His beautiful!
Whoah!
How many opportunities to see His beautiful have I missed out on because I have been too stubborn or hurt to forgive.
How about a challenge for the week?
No doubt you and I will be wronged this week. Whether it is deliberate or accidental –
