giving of thanks
“Give thanks to the Lord…
for He is good.
His love endures…
forever.”
I Chronicles 16:34
When my youngest had just started talking, one of his favorite phrases was, “Thank You!”
Whenever someone did anything for him… even the slightest thing, he would offer his gratitude and say “Thank You!”
If I held his hand, he would thank me.
When I gave him a drink, he would say thank you.
When I would pick him up, he would thank me.
Even when I buckled him into his car-seat, he would say thank you.
Every little thing done that pleased him… he would say “Thank You!”
However…
If there were instances {and there were plenty, I assure you ;-)} where he didn’t receive something he wanted… or where his expectations weren’t met – you can bet, he didn’t say “Thank You.”
Nope.
There was no “Thank You” from his lips for what he determined… nothing to be thankful for.
I am so like this child of mine.
Christmas is coming.
