hoarding my “not enoughs”
I wonder…
You know the story of the feeding of the five thousand? I bet there were adults who had some of their own loaves and fish on that day when Jesus was teaching to the multitude – I bet they knew it wouldn’t be enough for everyone, so they probably wanted to hide it and keep it for themselves.
Yeah. That’s what I would do.
Oh – who am I kidding. I do that now…
I can’t tell you how many times I hold back because I think that what I have to offer isn’t enough.
Truth is… it isn’t enough.
But, that isn’t the point.
The point is that Jesus takes my “not enough” and turns it into an incredible abundance!
That little boy who offered his lunch to Jesus… it was a measly couple of fish and loaves of bread. Even if it were ten times what he brought, it wouldn’t have been enough.
But, that wasn’t the point. Offered to Jesus, the “not enough” turned into “more than enough” with thousands satisfied and 12 baskets EXTRA.
Imagine for just a minute what God could do with your measly “not enough”…
Go on, dream about it.
I wonder if we offered more of what we have instead of believing the lie that it’s worthless or can’t be used… I wonder what kind of abundant left over blessings we would be privileged to see.
