I am doing a new thing ~ Don’t miss it!

I love the way the Message translates this verse…
“Be alert, be present.
I’m about to do something brand new.
It’s bursting out!
Don’t you see it?
There it is!
I’m making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.” Isaiah 43:19

If you read the verses prior to these in Isaiah 43, it talks about miracles that the Lord has done for His people… BIG miracles… like the parting of the Red Sea. It goes on to say in verse 18, “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.”

In other words… remember those big things I did, yeah, they were nothing. You just wait…

Then it digs into verse 19 where it says, Be ALERT, be PRESENT!
I’m about to do something BRAND NEW and you don’t want to miss it!

He is doing a NEW THING… He is making a NEW WAY… and it is like NOTHING you have ever seen!

This speaks so richly to my soul…

My husband is being layed off at the end of the month – and as he was in a meeting with his boss finding this out (we sort of expected it), a dear friend texted this verse to me… We decided right then and there that our family is on a God Watch.

Sometimes God allows the impossible…
and then things seem to get even more impossible before He does this new thing – but, we can rest assured that it is coming!

I don’t want to miss this new thing that He is doing!

As big as it is… this verse still warns us that if we aren’t watching for what He is doing we might miss it… and I want to be a part of this new thing and see the amazing work He does!
