Mommy… will you pray for me?
At least once a day my one of my kids will come to me and, in desperation, ask me to pray for them. It’s usually either a tummy ache,
a small cut,
a mosquito bite,
etc…
To be honest, sometimes I am bothered by how trivial the requests are and I use them as opportunities to encourage my kids to bring their own requests to God. Nice. I realize the huge opportunity and honor I am missing out on when I do.
What a beautiful thing to walk with our children into the throne room – and be reminded that He cares about all these little things that are so important to our children’s hearts.
And, what a beautiful lesson for me…
Sometimes I get in a place where I desperately need someone to walk with me into the throne room…
Someone to lift me up in prayer…
Sometimes I feel like a child asking for prayer for what might be simple things to those I am asking… but my need is still great.
If only it was just as easy for me to ask a friend to pray for me when I feel like I cannot as it is for children.
Oh how much I can learn from my children…
