When you don’t know what to say…

“When you don’t know what to say… say the name of Jesus”

I’ll admit it.
This week has been tough… my husband is officially unemployed. His first unemployment check was suppose to come – but didn’t. More hoops to jump through and even though we are only 2 weeks into this new ‘adventure’, it’s already exhausting.

“Life gets tough, and times get hard
It’s hard to find the truth in all the lies”

And, it isn’t just that… it’s the life stuff, you know? All the struggles we endure on a daily basis… The daily disciplining of children, the daily meal preparation and planning, the daily work it takes to pour into the blessed relationships in my life… even the good stuff takes work. And, when there are other ‘pressures’ pushing all around, those daily ‘tasks’ can be a bit overwhelming.

What do you do when you are overwhelmed?

Do you get outside and go for a run?
Do you go shopping?
Do you have quiet time with your Lord?
Do you hide under the covers and hope the day doesn’t have to begin? Yeah… me too.

In fact, when I’m exhausted by the adventures in my life, I tend to become overwhelmed and shut down… everything seems to take more energy and time than I feel like I have.

Music seems to be a tool that the Lord uses to bring truth to my soul. I heard this song on the radio a few days ago… and again today when I was feeling overwhelmed. The TRUTH in it is powerful!

“Whisper it (Jesus) now, or shout is out
However it comes out, He hears your cry
Out of nowhere He will come, you got to believe it
He will rescue you
Just call out to the Way, The Truth, The Light”

When I’m overwhelmed, I struggle to find my way.
I struggle to see the truth…
My eyes are often covered to the light…
But – JESUS – He is all of these things!
And, simply speaking His name brings all these things, the Way, Truth, Light to me.
